Movie Script

 The following is the script for the film opening of "The Unexpected":  

Opening Image

---------------------

Johnny

(leaves gym) “yeah alright, alright see you”

-Walks to the locker room (C-Building)-

- monster follows Johnny - 

- monsters scampers behind Johnny- 

Johnny

“Who’s there?, huh?”

- monster makes audible noise- 

-Johnny runs frantically to nearest room- 

- closes door- 

-heavy breathing- 

- monster comes from behind-

Monster 

“Hey Johnny”(evil tone) 

Johnny

 “AHHH!!!”

-monster devours- 

Set-Up 

------------------

- Addison walks through one end of conjoining hallways, Betty walks through other -

- the two meet and are walking side by side until Betty purposely bumps into Addison -  

Addison

“Woah! Please watch where you’re going.”

Betty

“You’re in my way.”

Betty and Addison begin turning the corner while talking over each other -

Addison

“You were in my way, I was clearly walking in the hallway so I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Betty

“You bumped into me. It’s always you people starting these problems.”

Addison

“You people?!”

Betty

“Yes, you people.”

Addison

“Who are you talking about.”

Betty

“I’m talking about you.”

Addison

“Um?? Please be direct, if you have something to say to me you can say it.”

Addison

“So do you have something to say? Because we can fight about it.”

Betty [overlapping dialogue]

“We can fight about it.”

Addison throws backpack and Betty drops her notebook and the two see a suspicious pool of blood under a door -

They both freeze and fear and distraught fills both Addison and Betty’s faces -

Addison

“...What is that?”

Betty

“You- do you see that?”

Addison

“I’m seeing it but I don’t know where it came from. What are we supposed to do? Are we supposed to call somebody? Like- I don’t…”

Betty

“That’s blood, that’s definitely blood.”

Addison

“Yes, obviously! Obviously. But what do we do about it?” 

Sudden sound of footsteps is heard coming from right behind them among the silence -

Addison

“Yo, we have to go. We can’t be here, this is incriminating.”

Betty

“Let’s go then!”

The two run toward the door only to find that they are locked in - 

Addison and Betty both bang on and try to force the door to open -

Addison

“We have to work together if we want to get out of here alive.”
