Group Impressions and Warm Up Assignment

        My group and I were able to finalize the movie we're going to choose to analyze for our group project. We chose Black Panther, a Marvel movie that was released in 2018 and the scene we chose within the movie was the final battle between Black Panther and Killmonger. The reason why we decided on this movie was that the action-packed sequence along with the opening is saturated and compact with symbolism, conventions, and other symbolic codes. Everybody seems to be interactive in making decisions in this group, which I believe is a great sign for the work we're going to produce for this assignment. Also, I was able to warm up today by analyzing the opening of the Forrest Gump (1994) film where Gump is found sitting on a bench alone. Although the assignment initially seemed confusing, a video linked before the opening scene helped me comprehend how to analyze opening scenes and what to look for.
